Martin Matthews has more than 30 years of computing experience. Marty has used Windows since its earliest inception and has been a beta test site for many versions of Windows from Windows 386 to Windows XP, and Windows .NET; as well as most versions of DOS. Marty has held management and executive-level positions in several companies. He has been both a company president of a 45-person firm for six years and a vice president of finance of a 500-person firm for seven years. Marty, along with his wife Carole, has been writing computer-related books for over 18 years. They have authored 57 editions of 32 titles, published primarily by Osborne McGraw-Hill including FrontPage 2002: The Complete Reference, Windows 2000: A Beginner's Guide. Marty has been a columnist and contributing editor for Windows Magazine and a contributing editor for PC World magazine. He has also been the host of a weekly Seattle area radio program on computing topics.
