Philip's Secondary Atlas of New Zealand & the World has been specially created for lower secondary students in New Zealand. The maps have been carefully designed so they are uncluttered and easy to read, containing specially selected place names and details. A clear set of symbols and scale information accompanies each map and there is a useful introductory section covering basic atlas skills. With the latest up-to-date information, this new atlas comprises a 14-page New Zealand section, focusing on areas of special interest for students of geography. Detailed physical maps of the North Island and South Island, together with thematic maps on New Zealand's climate, physical environment, people and economy are also included. A selection of satellite images are featured for comparison purposes and to aid the reader in understanding the topography shown on the maps. The 45-page section of World physical maps also includes an informative section of World thematic maps on the environment, climate, people, quality of life, resources and energy. In addition, regional maps, charts and satellite images of Australia, Japan and Europe focus on areas of special interest for geography students that are ideal for project work.
