Product Information

Paul Gibson is a Whanganui accountant, whose hobbies include birding and photography. From childhood he has had an interest in birds, and the study of them. Paul is passionate about the outdoors and the beauty found in nature, with birds being his main focus. The quality and range of pictures found in this book are testament to the long hours spent in the field, and his patience in getting the perfect picture. Paul works in the office during the week, but his spare time finds him with his binoculars and camera, out in the wild, free and beautiful land that is New Zealand. In obtaining material for this book Paul's travels took him to all New Zealand's subantarctic islands, all the Chatham Islands, Stewart Island, Norfolk Island, Macquarie Island, as well as the length and breadth of mainland New Zealand. He has found himself over the years in many and varied out of the way places, all for the purpose of finding birds to study and photograph. This book is another celebration of all those journeys, and amazing avian encounters.
