Barbara Lea Taylor has written three books about roses and for many years she was editor of the quarterly magazine of the New Zealand Heritage Roses Society. She is a regular columnist and contributor to New Zealand Gardener magazine. She lives in an 1850s cottage in Akaroa, where she grows her roses in a garden that slopes to a stream and a meadow of wildflowers. Juliet Nicholas is a freelance photographer and keen gardener. She has specialised in garden, landscape, architectural and documentary photography which has enabled her to combine her professional activities with her passion for the outdoors. Her work appears regularly in many national publications, including New Zealand Gardener, and she has contributed images to several books.
