Rob Bowden is a freelance author and photographer, specializing in geographical and environmental issues. He has been travelling to, and working in, Africa for over fifteen years and has written several other children's books about the continent. The consultant, Professor Tony Binns, has been working on African issues for over thirty years and has lived and worked in many parts of the continent. He is currently based at Otago University in New Zealand.
