A beautiful, gentle Christmas story, with the message being that it's family and friends that are most important. Beautifully illustrated by talented up-and-coming illustrator Patrick McDonald, winner of the Storylines Gavin Bishop Award for Picture Book Illustration. Flit longs to have a white Christmas with snowbirds, ice-skating and sleigh bells. You can't have these in the warm south so he travels far to the northern hemisphere where he hopes to have the perfect Christmas. It's not that easy and Flit learns to share with others. His Christmas holds all the magic he wished for, but it's still not right. Back home he delights in his southern hemisphere Christmas with family and friends.

Kyle Mewburn has written several books for children and won many awards. He lives in Central Otago in New Zealand but was born in Australia. He completed a degree in Advertising and Journalism at the Queensland Institute of Technology, then took off to see the world. He spent five years hitch-hiking, cycling and working in various jobs, mostly around Europe and the Middle East, acquiring a German wife, Marion, along the way. They arrived in New Zealand on a tandem, planning to circum-cycle the country. But after three weeks they rode into Millers Flat ... and decided to stay.
