Kevin Ireland lives in Devonport, on Auckland's Noth Shore. His 17th book of poems, Airports and other wasted days, was published recently. This was preceded by two memoirs, a volume of short stories and his fourth Novel, Getting away with it. With several other prizes he also became the second recipient of the Prime Ministers Award for Poetry in 2004.
