Cassino toTrieste : as the Infantry Saw it
Author(s): E B Paterson
Out of print, advised 16/2/2006. This book provides an insight into the demands placed upon the young men who fought for our freedom, as well as the exacting expectations that they had for their own behaviour. The Second World War saw many New Zealanders make the choice to leave their country to fight in the Allied cause. This is the story of Edward Paterson's part in the war in Italy, first as a corporal, and later as a commissioned officer in the Twenty-Second Infantry Battalion. Each chapter has a small map, showing the directions of the troop movements and the places mentioned. An index to the people and places is given at the end.
