John Reynolds has written a guide for aspiring writers of fiction in the New Zealand context. Writing Your First Novel is a practical guide which covers succinctly all the basic questions to which a new writer needs answers. John Reynolds' first novel Uncommon Enemy has recently been published and in Writing Your First Novel John shares his own experience as a new fiction writer. Uncommon Enemy provides many of the examples but there are quotes from a variety of authors from New Zealand and beyond which illustrate the points being made. This little book is easy to read, practical, sensible, accessible. It is a book to which writers will want to return again and again as they gain experience.
