Following the sell-out success of his first volume of hunting tales, Hunting in the Raw, Al Lester recounts more of his trials and tribulations in the bush. In this book he hunts (or tries to) all manner of beastie: tahr, chamois, trout, pigs, rabbits and more.

The author writes: âFunny, isnât it, how the hardships of the bush are dismissed by time and only the fondest memories survive. Gone are all thoughts of life in a cold, damp tent, constantly wet boots and clothing, blisters, blowflies, chafed thighs, sore backs, sandflies, hook grass, bush lawyer and dehydrated food. Supplejack, rainstorms, snow and aching legs donât feature either, dismissed as insignificant and not worth remembering. As always, my face breaks into a grin when I recall some incident or disaster that made one hunting trip more memorable than another.
