John Harris Dunning was born in South Africa in 1974 and has lived in London for the last decade. He has written for the Guardian and Metro newspapers, and has contributed to magazines like Esquire, Arena, iD and Dazed & Confused. Salem Brownstone was first serialised in the award-winning UK anthology Sturgeon White Moss, and extracts were included in the book Pictures and Words alongside work by Marjane Satrapi, Joe Sacco and David Shrigley. Nikhil Singh was born in 1975. His artwork has appeared in magazines internationally, including GQ, Dazed & Confused, Sturgeon White Moss, Creative Review and Art South Africa, amongst others. Aside from his illustration work, Nikhil performs in his post-punk band The Wild Eyes.
