New Zealand is a fly anglers paradise as most rivers and lakes have excellent water quality and offer sight fishing to large wild brown and rainbow trout. There is virtually no private water and the licence fees are reasonable. Access to most rivers and lakes is easy and there are wilderness areas providing trophy trout for the adventurous. Many overseas anglers visiting New Zealand have limited time to fish and the wide range of water available can be confusing and overwhelming. This book has been written to make that choice easier and to offer tips on fishing New Zealand waters. To simplify the anglers' itinerary the authors have grouped the fishing spots in close proximity to a central location so the angler has a choice of rivers and lakes to visit within a reasonable travelling distance. Also included is information on the availability of local fishing guides and fly shops in the vicinity. And, to be well entertained on non-fishing days various local attractions have also been mentioned.
