Noel Homes was one of the most high-profile journalists of his time. As well as his regular columns in the Star, he was also a well-respected sportswriter and his book, Trek Out Of Trouble, his account of South Africa and the 1960 All Black tour of that land, has been described by Warwick Roger as 'the best sports book ever published'.
