Katerina Mataira of Ngati Porou succeeds once again with her entry into this year's Huia Short Story Awards with Nga Mokonui a Rangi (Rangi and his Dinosaurs). In 1996/97 awarded the Pounamu Award by New Zealand Library and Information Association for He Tino Kuia Taku Kuia and Marama Tangiweto. 1998 Awarded a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the Queens Birthday Honours.
