"Stalker" is part of the "Siti's Sisters Series", a series of six fiction books designed to have particular appeal to girls. Each story has around 1200-1500 words and are ideal for reluctant readers. The books are designed to appeal to girls aged 10-14 with a reading age of 7-8 years. The Halloween Fair's in town, but the main attraction for Kelly isn't the ghost train or the toffee apples, but Gary, a boy in her class she really fancies. The problem is that her mum doesn't like her going anywhere by herself. But mum's advice suddenly doesn't sound so stupid when you're walking home at night and hear footsteps behind you...

Helen Orme runs workshops for children on fiction and non-fiction writing, and courses for teachers in both primary and secondary schools. At the last count she had written around 40 books, many for reluctant readers. Before becoming a writer and consultant she taught as a Special Needs Co-ordinator in a large comprehensive school.
