DescriptionWaitanguru These are our people?, is a fully indexed record of the first 100 years of a remote rural community, situated within the King Country, North Island of New Zealand, bordered by Waitomo Caves to the North, Te Kuiti to the east, Marokopa to the west, and Piopio to the south. The stories - covering some 150 families who have lived in Waitanguru and its environs since the first farmers arrived in 1902 - are happy, funny, tragic, lonely, loving and ultimately unique. There are old stories and new, all with accompanying photographs. Also included are tales from WWI and WWII veterans not previously published. |
