DescriptionCanterbury Voices is a unique compilation of firsthand stories and photographs of New Zealand history based on more than 70 years of recordings from the Radio New Zealand Sound Archives. From hundreds of hours of Canterbury material held, 37 stories have been chosen which reflect diverse aspects of the province's history. These include an old man recalling the great Timaru shipwrecks of 1882 to a Canterbury All Black remembering lunch with Mum before the big game, and moving stories from the Ballantynes fire of 1947. First published July 2007. |
