This Value Pack consists of: The text book: Te Kakano is the beginner-level Maori Language text designed for adults and teenagers. Changes include six new or improved maps of the main tribal groups and significant Maori place names of New Zealand. Additions have also been made to the dictionary/index at the end of book, which contains all the vocabulary of the textbook and audio tapes of Te Kakano and includes further information about the place names and tribal names. And the study guide: Designed to accompany Te Whanake Book 1: Te Kakano (Second edition). It contains Maori grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing exercises for independent study. These allow the student to practise the language introduced and explained in the corresponding chapter of the textbook. Suggestions are also given to help students with the more general skills underlying language acquisition such as deducing meaning from context, using words correctly and reading for meaning. Model answers are provided for most exercises.
