Rangiatea: Ko Ahau Te Huarahi Te Pono Me Te Ora
Author(s): .
On 7 October, 1995, Rangiatea Church in Otaki caught fire and burnt down. The National Library has entered a partnership with te Ropu Whakahaere of Rangiatea to curate a major exhibition on Rangiatea and its history. This essay has been written on the context of the exhibition. Its purpose is to write a broad outline of the history of Rangiatea, and record a few of the stories concerning Rangiatea that have not been recorded in the past, where families are happy for them to be recorded. It is intended to be a companion to "The Rangiatea Story" by Hohepa Taepa and "Rangiatea: The Story of Otaki's Maori Church" by Eric Ramsden. Written in both Maori and English.
