Description

In this latest book in the Objectspace Master of Craft series the process of design is examined, from the development of an idea through drawing to its realisation in the finished object--or what Mark himself termed 'working in the third person'. Mark Cleverley: Designer will give the reader a sense of the development of New Zealand design and the issues that designers grapple with when tasked with transforming an idea through into a multiplied and distributed final product. Mark Cleverley has had a distinguished and varied design career, spanning architecture, graphic design, ceramics, packaging and postage stamps. You may not know his name, but you will know his work - especially through classic and collectible Crown Lynn designs, and the many NZ stamps he designed. This beautifully produced book explores the business of NZ design from the 1960s to the 1990s.
