Sax: The Life and Times of Dave Saxton

Author(s): Dave Drangsholt

Dave Saxton has done more in one lifetime than most people could do in several. in a life filled with adventure, he has known triumph and tragedy. Drawn to the outdoor life from an early age he has hunted, fished and explored more of New Zealand than almost anyone else. He settled in Haast before the road went through, regarding it as the last frontier in New Zealand, a place where a man could fulfill his dreams. No single book could cover everything Sax has done in his lifetime so far, instead Dave Drangsholt who hunted with and befriended Sax in the 1960s has written a tribute to this remarkable man and with the help of some of Sax's friends recounts the stories, times and events that made him a legend.
