A month later, they reappeared in the same spot, naked, shivering with only an antique hunting knife in their possession. Over the following days, their dark hair turned white and their eyes black. Years later, the youngest - Iris - is trying to fit in at high school and live a normal life but she is haunted by the devastation her family has gone through since that night - the death of their father, her bizarre sensual power over others, and the departure of her sisters whom she shares an intense bond with.

When Vivi returns home to play a rock gig, Iris looks forward to a reunion but things turn awry when the oldest sibling - supermodel/fashion designer Grey Hollow, does not show up. The grim figure of a masked man begins to stalk them and suddenly Iris and Vivi are plunged into a desperate search for Grey who seems to have disappeared from the world altogether. Now they must face the truth of what really happened to them as children.

The reader can almost smell the heady scent of woodsmoke and flowers underlaid by the stench of decay, rotting greenery and carrion flowers which adorn the pages. Captivating.'

Iris Hollow and her two older sisters are unquestionably strange. People find them disturbingly intoxicating, unbearably beautiful and inexplicably dangerous. But now, ten years later, seventeen-year-old Iris Hollow is doing all she can to fit in and graduate high school on time - something her two famously glamorous globe-trotting older sisters, Grey and Vivi, never managed to do. But when Grey goes missing without a trace, leaving behind bizarre clues as to what might have happened, Iris and Vivi are left to trace her last few days. They aren't the only ones looking for her though. As they brush against the supernatural they realise that the story they've been told about their past is unravelling and the world that returned them seemingly unharmed ten years ago, might just be calling them home.
