This resource is written by a teacher, for teachers of all kinds, and is aimed to give practical information and suggestions to those who are attempting to comply with the requirements for Key Competencies and "Values" as stated in the 2007 N.Z. Curriculum. It has been recognised in an Australian Government Report into Citizenship education, that to develop such a programme, it would be necessary to work with teachers experienced not only in class rooms but also in the arena of active citizenship itself. In addition to academic qualifications, this author has had considerable practical experience in business, farming, sport, youth and community work, as well as local and national government.
