Fury knows who he wants as his next recruit for the Secret Avengers: the deadly mercenary known as Taskmaster. But how to extract S.H.I.E.L.D.'s newest prospective agent from the only prison cell in Bagalia - the nationstate built by and for, super villains? Author description

Nick Spencer broke into the comic-book industry with Existence 2.0, published by Image in July 2009 and slated for adaptation into a feature film by Paramount Pictures. He has since worked on a sequel, Existence 3.0, and the series Morning Glories for Image, as well as T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents for DC. For Marvel, he has written Secret Avengers and Iron Man 2.0, and is one of the writers working on the relaunch of the Ultimate Comics line.
Brazilian artist Luke Ross has been drawing comics since the early '90s, proving himself as an able stylist of super-hero action on titles such as X-Man, Sensational Spider-Man, Green Lantern and JSA. Ross stepped in for Mike Perkins as foil to Steve Epting on writer Ed Brubaker's Captain America and joined a rotation of Marvel's top artists on the thrice-monthly Amazing Spider-Man. In 2011, he was tapped for two of his highest-profile assignments yet: the movie prequel Captain America: First Vengeance and Stephen King's Dark Tower: The Gunslinger - The Little Sisters of Eluria.
