Description

In Gardens in Perspective Jerry Harpur's exceptional photographs of the world's most exciting and ground-breaking gardens not only evoke the unique atmosphere of each garden but provide garden owners with a rich visual source of imaginative and inspirational ideas that they can adapt or use for their own gardens. Divided into thematic chapters of garden according to their designer or owner's concept or inspiration - formal, exotic, minimal, natural, plant dominated, fantastic or dominated by art - the essence of each garden is captured through an informative and evocative text. Every chapter is packed full with private and public gardens, many of them designed by the world's most influential modern landscape and garden designers - including Roberto Burle Marx (Brazil), Thomas Church (USA), Fletcher Steele (USA), Pierre Clement (France) Topher Delaney (USA), Jacques Wirtz (Belgium), Shunmyo Masuno (Japan), Vladimir Sitta (Australia), Martha Schwartz (USA), Steve Martino (USA), Fernando Caruncho (Spain), Oehme and van Sweden (USA), Piet Oudolf (Netherlands), Penelope Hobhouse (UK), Dan Kiley (USA), Patrick Blanc (France), Christopher Lloyd (UK), Ulf Nordfjell (Sweden), and Mien Ruys (Netherlands).
