A gorgeous picture book that tells a classic indigenous story. Mother Fantail builds a nest for her eggs to keep them safe, but hungry Rat is out on the prowl. Includes factual information about fantails, a list of Māori words, and a key to the plants and animals that live in the fantail’s forest.
Translated by Piripi Walker.
This beautiful picture book “tells a big story in a deceptively simple way” – Gavin Bishop
