'A cat has her habits. A human has his.' This is what a young boy discovers, in no uncertain terms, when interviewing his cat for a class assignment. As well as eating ('a bit of fish might be delish') and sleeping ('Meow. And how.'), the 'odd need to prance' is revealed as one of kitty's most enjoyable hobbies - Cue much tail-whisking and silent dancing. And what of plain old humans? Well, this straight-talking cat admires their ability to balance nicely on two feet, but can't ignore the fact that 'they look peculiar with no fur'. And why must they 'stomp around and yell' when they could just be having a nap? All things considered, wouldn't you rather be a cat? First published 2005.
