Description

Illustrated with the luminous artwork of Peter Malone, this richly-detailed treasury features some of the most feisty fairy tale heroines! Few little girls can resist a princess. Leading children's illustrator Peter Malone has created an extraordinary, sumptuously detailed treasury with some of the most beloved heroines in classic fairy tales. And what heroines they are! Spirited and strong-willed, they hold great appeal for the contemporary audience and are memorably rendered in Malone's distinctive style. Rather than setting the stories in stereotypical fantasy settings, the eight tales are placed in specific eras and locales. Eight tales are told, including "Cinderella", "Beauty and the Beast", "The Frog Prince", "The Princess and the Pea", "Rapunzel", "Sleeping Beauty", "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" and "The Twelve Dancing Princesses". Perfect for families to read together, this beautiful book is not just another faithful retelling of classic favourites. Rather it presents spirited, strong-willed female role models for a contemporary audience.
