Author description

Berlie Doherty studied English at Durham University and has been a full-time writer, for children and adults since the publication of her first book in 1982. She has won two Cornegie Medals - for GRANNY WAS A BUFFER GIRL and DEAR NOBODY - and the Writers' Guild Award for CHILDREN OF THE SEA. Berlie lives in the Derbyshire Peak District. Tim Clarey is steadily building a reputation as a fine children's illustrator. He has contributed to a number of anthologies. Tim lives in Cornwall.
