Author description

Kathleen Olmstead is the author of several Classic Starts books, including Anne of Avonlea and Moby Dick, as well as Jacques Cousteau: A Life Under the Sea and Matthew Henson: The Quest for the North Pole, both in the Sterling Biographies series. She has also written three other Silver Penny Story books: Pied Piper of Hamelin (9781402783494), Thumbelina (9781402783524), and The Steadfast Tin Soldier (9781402783517). Linda Olafsdottir has a BFA from the Icelandic Academy of the Arts and an MFA in illustration for the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Her work has appeared in such publications as Poets and Artists and Creative Quarterly, and she has illustrated two other Silver Penny Story books: The Princess and the Pea (9781402784361) and Thumbelina. Linda lives in Reykjavik with her husband and two children.
