Open Roads Ahead: Memoirs Part Two

Author(s): Rolf Panny

Biographies & Memoirs

The first part of Rolf Panny's memoirs, Between Hitler and a Hard Place, described his golden childhood and coming of age as a member of the 'Swing Youth of Hamburg' -- rudely interrupted by the war taking him to the harsh realities of the Russian Front. Open Roads Ahead continues Rolf's colourful journey through many parts of the globe -- as a student in France, teaching at Berkeley and taking part in the Free Speech Movement and campaigns against the Vietnam War, until finally finding a home in New Zealand as a teacher of German at Massey University. Rolf Panny tells the captivating story of his life with vivid detail, and a sense of humour seldom far from the surface.
